Racing and Performance Horses

Horses performing at a high level may require regular veterinary involvement to monitor their health and maintain optimal strength and fitness.  This allows early identification and treatment of minor illnesses and injuries which, if not identified, might progress to more significant performance limiting issues.  In addition to optimising performance this also optimises horse welfare.

Examples of routine monitoring include:

  • Gait assessment, which can include the use of Sleip AI analysis
  • Monitoring of blood markers to detect signs of illness or overtraining
  • Assessment of airway health
